Coaching Services & Back-on-Track Program

"It's not brain surgery..."

No truer words have been spoken
about weight loss surgery.

While bariatric surgery helps get the weight off,
it's up to the individual to keep it off.  Maintenance can be challenging, especially if you've never done it before because you've spent your life being a "serial dieter."

This is where Kimberlee and her coaching experience can help!

First, what is coaching?
The International Coach Federation defines coaching as "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential."  Coaches help you find solutions from within that work for you; they do not tell you what the solutions are since, as obese or formerly obese people, we know "one size DOES NOT fit all."

Bariatric Coaching can help you navigate through your new life in a smaller body with confidence. By working with Kimberlee, she can assist you in such areas as:
  • Exploring strategies of your choice to help you lose weight or maintain
  • Dating and navigating various relationships with your smaller body (relationships change!)
  • Job interviewing/hunting in a smaller body
  • Creating a fitness plan or goals you can live with
  • Helping you determine your needs to stay on track to avoid weight regain
  • Time Management (i.e., making time for meal planning and physical activity)
  • Meeting any challenge in your life with confidence, not comfort food
  • Just having someone to listen to your fears and concerns so you don't sabotage your efforts
  • and more, of course.

Kimberlee MacVicar, CC, became a Certified Life Coach and Life Purpose & Career Coach by the Life Purpose Institute in 2007.  In 2011 she was certified as a Bariatric Life Coach by Taylor College through Bariatric University.  She is a Certified Bariatric Support Group Leader, Success Habits Instructor and Back-on-Track Facilitator by Bariatric Support Centers International and is also a Certified Bariatric Support Group Leader with ObesityHelp.  Kimberlee is an 12-year WLS veteran and support group leader, who has experienced dating, getting married, job hunting, pregnancy, motherhood and weight regain since her surgery.  Based on her experiences, she'll understand first-hand what you are going through.

Fees and Information

To assist clients in their weight loss journey, Kimberlee keeps her coaching fees low in comparison to other coaches.  Rate is $40/hour, $25 for a 30-minute session.
  • Coaching is conducted via telephone or Skype.  No traveling required!
  • Evenings and weekend appointments available.
  • Payments are made in advance by check.  Paying for 4 sessions in advance is wisest so you really make this investment in yourself.  Buy a 4-Session block for $150.
  • These sessions are all about YOU and what you need to be happy and fulfilled!

Back-on-Track Program

The Back-on-Track Kick Start program, created by Bariatric Support Centers International (BSCI), is designed to assist post-op people who have either regained, are at a weight loss plateau or need the extra assistance to finally reach goal weight.  This course also works for pre-ops needing to lose their 10% to qualify for surgery.

Back-on-Track meets in a block of six Saturday mornings.
If interested in enrolling, complete the form below or e-mail info@eastbaybariatric.org and we will keep you posted of possible dates.  Six people must register for the class to happen.

To stay on track, students are encouraged by BSCI to repeat the program annually to learn new techniques, be reminded of the basics, and/or lose any holiday weight regain.

Price
Registration fee is $150 and includes your booklets, bariatric products, a three-month membership to BSCI and more.  If you have previously taken Back-on-Track, you can repeat it for only $75 as a "Graduate" (bring your books).  Back-on-Track booklets include: Goal Getting, Exchanging Habits, Strength-n-Sculpt, Kick Start, and Maintenance Mentality, a pocket-size Back-on-Track Tracker, and an Assignment Guide.

You are worth this investment!
